A female pedestrian was struck at the intersection of 5675 West and 6200 South in West Valley City, Utah, on October 25, 2010. According to KSL News, the woman had left the Walmart and was walking across the street when the driver of a small truck hit her. Police believe that the bad weather was a contributing factor. The woman was taken by ambulance to the hospital with a mild traumatic head injury and suspected broken leg.
I send my best wishes to this woman for a quick and full recovery. Legally speaking she very well may have a claim against the driver of the truck. I would suggest that she contact an experienced Utah pedestrian injury attorney for guidance on what remedies may be available to her.
