West Jordan Car Wreck Damages House

Darcy Wallace, 38 years old, was booked into the Salt Lake County jail after running her SUV into a house in West Jordan, Utah. According to KSL News, the car crash happened on April 26, 2011, while the driver’s two children, 9 and 3 years old, were in the back seat. According to the story, the woman lost control of the car near 7500 South and 3500 West and smashed into a brick house, sending debris into one of the bedrooms. No one in the house was injured, but the driver, Darcy Wallace, was taken to the hospital for injuries. She was believed to have been under the influence of alcohol or possibly drugs at the time of the car wreck. This is apparently what led to her arrest. Her children are now with a local relative.

I’m relived that the only one injured person was the driver of the car, who I still wish a speedy recovery to.

There’s a lot I can say about lessons learned from this type of sad incident. The most important is to not drive while impaired, and if you do, to not get your young children involved in it.
