With over 20 years of litigation experience, Candace brings a wealth of knowledge from a variety of diverse roles, including positions at other law firms, with in-house counsel for an international insurance carrier, and at the Utah Attorney General’s Office, the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office, and West Valley City.
Throughout her career, Candace has contributed to State and community legislative processes, including drafting and implementing city ordinances for West Valley City, helping develop model legislation, and launching the City’s Administrative Code Enforcement program. She has provided extensive training to municipalities statewide, enabling other jurisdictions to establish similar programs.
Candace is an active member and past Chair of the Utah Paralegal Division of the Utah State Bar and has served on its Board of Directors and various committees. She also served as chair of the Continuing Legal Education Paralegal Committee at the Utah Attorney General’s Office. In recognition of her dedication and service to the profession, Candace was named Utah’s Paralegal of the Year in 2024. She is also a proud member of the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA).
A resident of West Valley City, Candace is the mother of four children and grandmother to two, and enjoys life with her three dogs. She devotes time to volunteering for organizations supporting individuals with disabilities, at-risk youth, and youth sports, and actively supports the annual Adam Valdez Memorial Scholarship. In her free time, Candace enjoys attending concerts and sporting events and is currently writing a book.
