Green, River Utah Car Accident Claims Man’s Life

Cornelio Garcia, 33 years old from Washington State, suffered fatal injuries following a roll-over accident near Green River Utah on Wednesday, May 13, 2010. According to KSL News, Garcia was a passenger in a Ford Explorer SUV traveling east on I-70 when the driver of that car lost control on a wet road and drove off the right side of the road, causing the SUV to overturn into a ravine and land on several large boulders. This Utah accident happened about 20 miles west of Green River. Although the driver and his 3-year old daughter were not wearing seatbelts, they miraculously survived with only minor injuries and were taken to Castle Dale Hospital in Price, Utah.

I send my sincere condolences to the family of Cornelio Garcia for this tragic accident.

Although someone looking at this case could blame the rain for this accident happening, driver error is most frequently the main cause. The facts of this accident raises questions of how fast the driver was going, what was the condition of the tires, did he overcorrect improperly when going off the road, etc. I would advise the family of Mr. Garcia to seek the advice of a Utah wrongful death attorney to find out what remedies they may have available to them. Frequently, in situations where the liability is clear, these kinds of claims are resolved with the applicable insurance companies without the need for any court filings.
