Excessive Speed Blamed for Death of Spanish Fork Man

Randy D. Anderson, 42 years old of Spanish Fork, Utah, is dead following a fatal single-car motor vehicle accident in Willard, Utah. According to KSL News, Anderson was said to be speeding on the northbound I-15 when he exited at marker 351, ran the stop, drove across three lanes of traffic, and hit a guardrail. The force of this collision caused the truck to vault over the rail and roll once down the hill. At that point, the truck caught on fire and Anderson was killed.

I send my condolences to the family for their tragic loss.

It is unclear exactly why the motorist was speeding, why he failed to stop at a stop sign and then proceeded to strike the guardrail. I wonder if he was experiencing some sort of mechanical problem with his vehicle. Was this a Toyota with a sudden acceleration problem? Maybe Mr. Anderson had some sort of medical problem. Hopefully we’ll get some answers to these questions so this type of crash won’t happen in the future.
